WinWay obtained ISO 45001 occupational safety and health management (OSH) system international certification in 2019 (the effective period of the latest certification is from December 26, 2022 to December 25, 2025). Through planning, execution, review, and concrete actions, we implement management system operations and comply with laws and regulations related to OSH. We continue to improve the performance of OSH management to create a safe work environment and a healthy workplace.

Safety Culture

We cultivate safety awareness among employees through safety and health work rules, occupational health and safety training for new and existing employees, fire safety drills, evacuation drills, and hazard education. In order to encourage employees to actively participate in the promotion of OSH management systems in plants, each unit appoints employees to form the safety and health consultation team. The workers' opinions are collected during the safety and health consultation meetings and the relevant worker issues are discussed by the Company's Occupational Health and Safety Committee, thereby strengthening the interactions between employees and the Company's OSH managers.

    Safety and health hazard identification and risk and opportunity assessment

    Conduct safety and health hazard identification and risk and opportunity assessments on operating activities or work environments of employees and stakeholders, in order to formulate the OSH management goals accordingly. The Company implements health and safety operation controls, emergency response measures, and education and training.

  • 化學品管理

    Chemical management

    For the established hazardous chemicals list, the manufacturer/supplier provides the safety data sheet (SDS) that complies with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), which includes labeling to be used by plant personnel as safety protection reference when using chemicals. The Company implements chemical classification management and regular operating environment monitoring in plants to assess exposure and risk controls in the operating environment.

    Safety protection

    To maintain the safety and health of employees, exposure to hazards in the operating process is reduced. Appropriate protection measures are provided according to the hazard type in the environment, and automated inspections and management are implemented to ensure the effectiveness of related safety protection.

    • Chemical hazard prevention: Install ventilation devices in the work space of chemical operations and provide suitable personal protection equipment (PPE) to operating personnel.
    • Physical hazard prevention: Installed CNC automatic interlock protection safety devices, emergency stop devices, machinery enclosures, and hazard warnings/labels, and provided protective equipment for operators to implement safety inspections and management measures, thereby eliminating hazard risks related to machinery and equipment operations.

  • Description: The aforementioned statistics only cover the official duties performed in the plants and do not include traffic accidents during employee commutes.
  • 2021發生 1 件與工作相關之輕傷害事件。係人員因作業不慎且個人防護具配戴不確實,致化學容器破裂,受化學噴濺灼傷。本案已執行改善措施,調整化學品容器容積,使人員便利取用,並要求落實完整配戴防護具,加強宣導訓練,預防類似事件再發。

Workplace health management

  • Pre-employment physical examinations are provided when hiring new employees. Regular health check-ups for employees are conducted every 2 years and regular special health examinations are conducted every year. Furthermore, professional medical personnel conducts triage according to examination results, providing individualized health counseling for those with abnormal test results.
  • Appoint first-aid personnel and prepare first-aid kits, automated external defibrillators (AED), and other first-aid facilities according to the number of personnel in each plant. The aim is to provide necessary first aid when an emergency occurs.
  • Appoint nursing staff and certified doctors with professional medical training to provide health consultations for employees, and implement occupational disease prevention, maternal health protection, and musculoskeletal hazard prevention for employee health management and improvement.
  • Provide blood pressure machines, scales, and body fat meters to employees so that they can monitor their own health at any time. Human hazard prevention and other health seminars are held periodically and health management information is provided to strengthen self-health management awareness among employees.
  • The Company is dedicated to smoking hazard prevention in the workplace to create a healthy work environment for employees. The Company passed healthy workplace certification from the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and obtained the healthy workplace label in 2021.

WinWay has adopted a careful attitude in the prevention of the possible impacts of COVID-19. The Company follows the latest information published by local government agencies and refers to pandemic prevention guidelines. We have proactively established an emergency response center for the Company and reporting and management mechanisms to realize pandemic prevention measures. We make rolling revisions of the pandemic prevention strategy according to changes in the pandemic situation. WinWay actively tracks the health status of high-risk employees and strengthens the understanding and self-protection behavior of employees through advocacy and training. Moreover, we encourage employees to get vaccinated to improve health protection in the workplace.
